Curriculum

Anouk Graav

This program has 6 intensive modules and runs over a period of approximately 12 months. Its structure optimises development and integration, allows time for practice and meaning making, builds a peer coaching and feedback culture, deepens and accelerates learning.

Attendees on this programme are fully committed to advancing their expertise in developing and growing potential in themselves, their people and the organisations they work with and for. They realise it takes both inner work and outer work to do this well.

The program has a learning/growth activity each month and is made up of 6 levels of learning and intensity.

The core purpose is to develop your grasp and expertise in growing potential and authentic leaders through your one on one and one to team interactions.

It places personal and interpersonal growth at the core of professional leadership development.

In essence we take a holistic approach and interweave and integrate practical, emotional, creative, interpersonal, intellectual and other learning within an educational framework.

Criteria are agreed between facilitators and participants for assessment relevant to the learning goals of the course and participants own development. We will determine and apply the assessment procedure.

  • Reflection and evaluation – what have we learned, changed, applied?

  • Where to next, what can we commit to?

  • Graduation and celebration

Course work

Peer coaching groups
Groups of 3 are formed during the first 4-day module. They will meet (virtual or actual) on average 2-3 hours a month. Minimum requirement is 22 hours.

The peer groups are an integral component of the programme and will be peer led. Their aim is to practice coaching & mentoring with each other using the feedback loop, to integrate learning, share insight and current challenges, supervise practice clients, present and discuss casework, prepare for the next module and to identify further developmental needs.

Presentation
Prepare and present a relevant aspect of coaching & mentoring as part of your study for module 3, 4 or 5. The theoretical presentation will be a maximum of 20 minutes.

Practice client project
Work with a practice client starting after Module 1 for at least 10 hours, supervised within the peer learning groups and in your personal supervision.

Prepare and introduce your client, including stages of the relationship, elements that worked, and what needs changing for module 5. You will be given project information and steps to follow.

Self, peer and collaborative assessment
This is an integral part of the learning process and elements of assessment and collaborative feedback will run through all modules.

Supervision (optional and recommended)
If you already have a Spirited Leadership coach/mentor we recommend you to continue. For those who have not we recommend you start. The purpose is to process and deepen your learning.

The certificate will be awarded once all 6 levels and all course work have been completed. 80% attendance for both the modules and peer coaching groups is required and all course work has been completed.

Essential learning methods

Anouk Graav

This exciting new programme has a powerful development approach that blends together different types of learning.

Experiential holistic self-discovery

Autonomous self-discovery through structured and unstructured experience, in which emphasis is placed on a person’s innate ability to learn from their own and others’ thoughts, feelings, bodies, perceptions and intuitions. Time is set aside for reflecting on the process and drawing out meaning and significance.

Skills training and practice

Using role-play, intensive coaching, pair and small group work, learning groups, peer supervision and feedback, mindfulness, observation and analysis.

A vital learning community

Facilitators and participants aim to balance hierarchy with co-operative and self-directed ways of working. Reflective practice and working with individual and group needs as they arise, will be used to further enable the development of the learning community.

Theoretical study

This includes theoretical input from the facilitator as well as from participants. Models and theory will be offered and collaboratively explored.

From their private study course participants will prepare and give a presentation of maximum 20 minutes to the group either in level 3 or 4 as part of the required course work.

Transpersonal exploration

Exploring and challenging our belief structures and perceived realities by understanding the transpersonal dimension of experience and its relevance in coaching & mentoring and in self-care. We will explore psychological frameworks and experiential methods.
